Through his mother's eyes, Letting Go of Jason is a biography of a young man and his struggles with Asperger's Syndrome, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, and bipolar disorder. Despite multiple diagnoses his parents believe it is best for him to learn to live an independent life away from them. Difficulties arise when the proper resources are not available to Jason. Jason learns to live on his own because of the strong support of his parents and the many professionals who care about his future. This is one young man's struggle with who he is and who he wants to become. He must choose between the intellectual world and the real world. What he desires are companions who share his interests in computer networking and math. There is a strong hope that the future will bring a greater understanding of Asperger's Syndrome so that more young adults will have the adequate resources available to them to be successful men and women. What joy will there be when we watch our children walk through life being what they have chosen to become and feeling at peace in the world they have chosen for themselves.
