It would seem an odd way to approach the saga of creation. But history is alive and so is our unlikely hero, John O'Connell. A junior executive seeking his roots in Northern Ireland, Jack finds that even a good deed can be deadly. Now merely deceased, Jack learns the hard way that death isn't the end. Thus begins the tale of an average man, murdered only to awaken between heaven and earth. Aided by an old sage, first mistaken for a madman, Jack finds roots he never imagined and the terrors of being caught-up in the war between Good and Evil. Narrating the sage, Jack's mentor enlists everyone who can help, from warrior angels and cherubs, to ex-slaves, atomic scientists, and even a resurrected Atlantean. Yet everytime Jack tries to grasp this new 'life', another twist throws him for a loop. How can a mortal (especially a dead one) cope with natural mysteries, while living in an unnaturally mysterious place where telepathy and teleportation are normal, and even thoughts can become real? That's Jack's challenge, if he's up to it and if he's willing to pay the price, which is terrifyingly high indeed.
