Alicia Adams was not afraid of things that went bump in the night. She felt there was a scientific explanation for everything she had ever encountered in her life. Everything, that is, until she purchased Thornton Vineyards and she stepped into the midst of its mystery. Alicia struggled with her subconscious to create plausible explanations as objects seemed to move from here to there, as floors creaked in the middle of night and doors slammed in the middle of the day. She felt confident as she explained away each event as just the natural stirring of the wind, the inevitable settling of an old house, maybe even her own imagination. However, she did not plan on developing a feeling of affinity with the overpowering presence in the house. She did not believe the stories being told in townbut there certainly was more going on here than silverware being removed from a locked box, books lying open to certain pages, or flowers wilting. What was the mystery hidden in these old walls? What did the psychic mean by the pit of darkness? Alicia was determined to find out.
