This book is a lively and candid defense of German participation in World War I as seen through the eyes of a proud German immigrant. The author believes the British and French should have been the enemies of America, instead of the Germans. Wolter believes the American attitude toward Germany and its people have been unfair and prejudiced in favor of Britain, whom he does not consider guiltless. He argues the war was a defensive action, forced upon the Germans by their enemies. The author denounces the ridiculous propaganda among the Allies in WWI, when Germans were portrayed as inhuman monsters, and he describes the instances of Americans after WWII who were just as inhuman.
