In 1953, it is unthinkable for awhite college fraternity to accept a Negro student to pledge for membership into its ranks. However, Chi Beta OmegaFraternity, an elite organization of Pittman College is coerced by one of its wealthiest graduate members to accept a Negro of high scholastic ability. Leo Mason, a Freshman applies for membership and is accepted to pledge. He experiences racism, a broken romance, and most of all a pledge period filled with hazing and horrendous brutality.
