When You Were in My Belly follows the story of three diverse families as they each plan for the new addition to their lives. Each parent celebrates this special time in their own unique way. From visits to the doctor's office, shopping for cribs and strollers, and choosing a special name, the book follows the journey before the birth of a child. When You Were in My Belly celebrates the universal story of childbirth and how parents begin to show love for their child long before they are born.




Debut author Kara Michelle Liu teams up with illustrator Hanji Kim to create When You Were in My Belly, a picture book designed to capture the excitement felt during the months leading up to the birth of a child.




?ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Kara Michelle Liu was a teacher of 2nd and 3rd graders for nine years, including five years teaching in international schools in Hong Kong and China. She received a Masters in Reading Education and later went on to study International Education with a concentration in technology integration. Since the arrival of her daughter, she has been inspired to write books for her to capture moments spent together. "My goal in writing this book is to encourage families to share the story of the excitement that they felt in

anticipation of meeting their child. I want children to know how much they are loved from the very beginning." Kara currently lives in Southern California with her daughter and husband.
