During my early childhood, I've always been ridiculed in regards of my sexuality, by family members, people from my neighborhood, schools, and jobs. I was determined not to be that way, especially after the treatment that I witnessed of people that were special like me endured. Becoming a boyfriend at the age of 18 to a girl, who became my wife at the age of 24, and the mother of my son Jamari and daughter J'Adora, still wasn't enough to assassinate my true self. We separated at the age of 27; however, growing up in the closet was only the beginning of my journey. Who knew being a single full-time father, living my truth within the gay community, would become one of my most challenging battles of all.
