A family in the Ohio Valley must stay ahead of a lethal past involving illegal alcohol, drugs and theft. Two brothers who escaped their shady mountain heritage and were spared the depths of lifelong addiction do their best to stay clean and be there for the ones they care about. The sons of parents not known to be alive or dead each man constantly fails but keeps going to find love, acceptance and themselves. When the daughter of one of the men becomes the other's best friend all set out to reach the one person who can help make sense of a violent and secretive upbringing.
