"Celebration Circles" is about sharing our stories, deepening relationships, and celebrating life. It is based on how some indigenous cultures gathered in a circle to share their stories and build community. Today we draw on the wisdom and familiarity of gathering in circle and adapt it to present day needs and settings. Collectively we recognize our need to deepen connections and create community in our lives. Nancy McCreight and Sherry Winter have taken this long-honored way of coming together and created a guide for creating circle gatherings to celebrate and affirm life. They developed 50 different circles, ranging from traditional celebrations such as birthdays and anniversaries to honoring a milestone in life and celebrating the solstices. Circle gatherings can be held in the home, community, retreat settings, schools, churches, and organizations.
