Beach grass, hot sun on tarred rooftops, fire hydrants spraying water, cold concrete walls, a babe in arms, birds on telephone wires through a window, darkened corners with heroin addicts shooting up. The physical details are interwoven with a deep longing that comes from many losses along the way.
