1927. The Roaring Twenties. Popular silent film actress Claire Burns needs a stunt flier for her new film and asks her childhood friend, the World War I ace pilot Jesse Kelly, if he would like the job. Jesse wants a change from flying the new airmail routes and on a whim, he flies his biplane to Hollywood. Jesse and Claire last saw each other at his "going away" party the day before he left for France. A lot changed in those ten intervening years. His actions during the war still haunt Jesse's dreams and screen acting no longer answers all of Claire's needs. What was supposed to be a quick two days turns into six weeks and forces a decision that would change their lives forever.
