We Are Barely Here explores the mysteries of how the mind actually works, how thoughts and ideas come to us, and the nature of the will we are compelled to follow. Focusing the attention inward allows us to see clearly what is happening within the self construct, and just how different it is from mainstream understanding. Free will is questioned, and exposed as a trick of smoke and mirrors, of ideas and emotions. How can the will be considered free when desires are imposed upon us? We find ourselves wanting what we want, driven to pursue, but conspicuous by its absence is any conscious, subjective process of deciding what the objects of our desire should be. It's a wild ride indeed, being human, one quite different than you may have thought. In truth, subjectively, We Are Barely Here.
